Zakynthos (aka Zante) – a Greek island in the Ionian Sea – is the seventh largest island of Greece and a magic touristic destination. The island’s nickname – bestowed upon it by the Venetians who were in possession of Zakynthos from 1484 to 1797 – is “the Flower of the East”, as there are over 7,000 species of flowers on Zákynthos.
Zakynthos is known among many other things, for it’s fertile valleys, it’s temperate climate, it’s cultural tradition,and of course it’s endless modern nightlife! Above all the island it’s famous for it’s sandy beaches in secluded – or crowded – coves where the tranquil waters are deep blue. The world well known “Navagio” beach attracts hundred of thousands of visitors every summer season, but of cource Laganas, Tsilivi, Gerakas, Vasilikos, Marathonisi … all ranking among the most splendid beaches in Greece!
